I just got this and haven't used it out in the field. This lens cap goes on and off easy/quickly. The one issue with it is that it is less tight than the original lens cap on my Canon 18-55mm EF-S lens. It's easier to take off than the original cap but it's also more likely to fall off if bumped. The cap stays on the lens fine due to the the pressure exerted outward from the spring design, but it will shift sideways if pressure is applied, which may create space between the cap and the lens which may let small particles in.
It do does have a string which the original lens cap didn't have. I'm going to keep this but I might look into a different design if I ever have to replace it.

stays on the lens when its needed. the only thing is that im always losing these. haha cant blame that on the product. shipping was fast.
