Customer Reviews
I needed a t-ring for attaching my Canon 40D to a telescope for astrophotography. I previous t-ring was too flimsy. I had heard good reviews of this Vixen product, so I pulled the trigger. I'm glad I did because the Vixen t-ring is very solid and does not appear to have any slop that will affect flexure. It also appears to be nice and flat so the camera's imaging chip should remain perpendicular to the optical path. The old t-ring didn't, and so I have elongated stars in one corner of my images.
This T Ring Adapter does exactly what it says - connects perfectly toe the EOS body (in my case a T2i) and the quality is excellent. Only things to keep in mind are: 1) You also need a matching T adapter for the telescope, and 2) Simply having the solid connection between the scope and the camera isn't enough. You also have to be able to adjust the focus so that the focal plane is the correct distance from the scope - i.e. You may also need a distance adapter to allow the focal plane of the camera sensor to wind up the correct distance from the scope for the image to come into focus.
