The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Autofocus Lens is a standard zoom lens that features the smaller size image circle, exclusively designed for EOS Digital Rebel and other cameras using the "APS-C" size sensor. The focal length is equivalent to approx. 28-90mm in 35mm format. This makes it ideal as a basic everyday lens. This lens features Canon's optical Image Stabilizer technology, which provides up to 3-4 stop compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. This ensures clear, crisp images, even in dim light. Designed specifically for digital photography, the lens has specially shaped lens elements and Super Spectra coatings to suppress ghosting and flare, which can be caused by reflections off digital camera sensors. An exclusive optional lens hood can further reduce the incidence of flare. Note! When I received this lens it wasn't even in a Canon box. There was a smudge on the lens. There was no product information. There was nothing but the lens. Where did this come from. A take off lens from another camera? If so that would not be considered a new lens. I would not recommend this seller to anybody.

Great little lens. Fast AF... For the money it's worth it.. Got it on Amazon for just over $100.00. If you look at another well known Electronics web site, they sell them for $179-$199. The only issue I have is not the lens, but the people who shipped it (sold it)... When I got it, it was rolling around loose in a box with no cushioning. I was concerned that the lens would be damaged or something because of the way it was shipped. After checking it over, found no damage. Works great... I think they need to ship their lenses with cushioning inside the box. It was fortunate mine came with no shipping damage. Also the fact that it came undamaged with the second rate packaging, shows that the lens is of solid construction, and for being plastic construction, it's a well-built lens.
